The practice I am currently entangled in, is a braiding together of my life since graduating from art college 20 years ago.
Having traveled in search of environmental front line campaigns, I had the privilege to fight for the land for several years. Upon returning to Ireland in 2009 I embarked on learning the rhythms and secrets of the growing season, in an attempt to live a softer life while still maintaining a focus on environmental ethicacy.
In 2017, no longer able to subdue the desire to return to a creative life, I began trying to find my way back into a sustainable practice.
The discovery of making colours from the hedges, bogs, rivers and mountains bound the previous twenty years in a nice weave and into a practice that I rest easy with.

The resulting work on paper, is always inspired by the land and the history and stories that it holds, from my human perspective. I use paints and inks that I make in a layering fashion, often incorporating feral printmaking techniques which allow me to layer textures. and keep a rhythm circulating.
